I am Kat Harris, a 28 year old illustrator with interest in character design, visual development, and story telling through narrative illustrations in game art, comics, and animation.

I’ve always been drawn to drawing (ha!) even at a young age, I’d go through coloring books, printer paper, and colored pencils like it was no ones buisness. There was a deep love for animated films and as I reached middle school my curiosity towards the visual and interactive style of story telling that was video games took hold. Quickly I grew enamored with the artwork, later cultivating inspiration from artists like Yoshitaka Amano, Akihiko Yoshida, and Tetsuya Nomura.
In high school I continued to draw on any surface I could find; however I made the choice, after attempting college for a semester, that I wasn’t ready yet. In 2014 I was given the choice to come to Maine and help my Uncle and his family while he was being deployed for 6 months overseas. So I packed up my life and moved to Maine and began my college journey the very next year.
While school helped me grow my skills artistically, the largest take away I had was understanding was someone who needed direction. I needed to learn self-management, time management, and build an understanding of my own artistic choices. Who inspired me, why? So I could confidently talk about my work and grow on my own. And I absolutely did.

Though my journey through school is over, I continue my growth and am eager to learn more with each opportunity. Currently I am taking on freelance work and have been selling my work for the past 4 years.
